 Course Description
This course is designed to be an introduction to the operation of various types of
businesses, including business engaging in electronic commerce. Topics covered
include an overview of various traditional business and e-business models, building a
business, business law, and government regulation. Special emphasis is place on
business in the “new economy.”

 Course Outcomes
The course outcomes are the goals of instruction. These outcomes identify the
knowledge, skills, and attitudes a student should have upon completing this course.

Upon completion of this course, students should be able to:

Knowledge
  • Explore the fundamentals of business and economics.
  • Describe the key aspects of different types of businesses.
  • Examine how business laws affect business structure and behavior.

Skills
   • Demonstrate how teamwork contributes to successful business growth.
   • Research essential business principles.

Attitudes
   • Value general business knowledge.

 Course Completion Requirements
Students must achieve a passing grade of D or above by completing all required
examinations, submitting all required lab exercises and projects, and meeting the
standards of the school attendance policy.

 Attendance and Classroom Policies
    Students are expected to adhere to the attendance and tardiness policies stated
    in the current catalog. This course Introduction to Business will adhere to the
    University of Phoenix 25% Rule. The 25% rule states; Students who miss
    25% of the scheduled class will be subject to withdrawl from the class.
